Organizations and state subsidies in neighborhoods of Mendoza, Argentina (2009-2012)

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide a reading of relations between organizations and the State in Argentina. It is based on a case study carried out in popular neighborhoods of Mendoza (2009-2012). First, it presents the transformations of social policies in the last 20 years: the distribution of public resources for popular organizations by providing subsidies. Then it boards the relations between state organizations and officials and the redefinition of state classifications. Later, it describes how access to subsidies modifies the links between members of popular organizations. Finally, it reflects on its possibilities in the implementation of social programs.
