Resumen

Este artículo tiene por objeto reflexionar en torno a las políticas sociales elaboradas por la Unión Europea. A tal efecto se estructurará en tres bloques argumentales. En primer lugar se trazarán las pautas históricas: desde el Tratado de Roma hasta hoy, con especial hincapié en las fases posteriores a Maastricht. En segundo lugar, se discutirá el carácter cualitativo de la europeización social desde la perspectiva de las nuevas formas de governance. [sic] En tercer lugar, se perfilará la estructura de políticas de la agenda social europea, y se profundizará en los principales ámbitos de actuación. El artículo se cierra con conclusiones que aportan elementos interpretativos y de síntesis.
