Una lectura eliasiana de la crisis financiera
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the current economic and financial crisis using key concepts from the sociology of Norbert Elias as a theoretical reference. Understanding the financial system as a global configuration, the author proceeds to analyze its social logic of functioning on the basis of a triple vector of forces —interdependence, competition and hetero-control— and examines its relations with certain models of sociability and behavior. As a function of this analysis, the author proposes an interpretation of the crisis as a decivilizing dynamic that promotes indifference and de-identification as patterns of behavior.
