Social vulnerability to tornadoes in Mexico City
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes the social vulnerability of Mexico City’s inhabitants to tornadoes and their social behavior during the passage of the tornado on June 1, 2012. It highlights both the propensity of this city to the occurrence of these natural phenomena and its inhabitants’ helplessness against its violent expressions, exacerbated by the lack of training of meteorological personnel to recognize and anticipate them and omissions on the part of the authorities responsible for the population’s safety.
