Mexico City: Housing conditions and social distancing imposed, Covid-19
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work analyzes the unequal living conditions offered by Mexico City’s housing to deal with the “social distancing” imposed by sars2-Covid-19. In particular, it analyzes the housing precariousness in which the popular sectors live and the difficulties they face in complying with the government mandate to “stay at home” and “wash your hands” as the main protection measures against the spread of the virus. It also considers the actions taken by the three levels of government and some citizen proposals to
cope with this health emergency and its serious economic and social effects.
