More than a thousand words: unemployed workers’ movements in Clarín newspaper
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper studies media depictions of unemployed Argentine workers’ movements, focusing on two of the elements that constitute their experience: unemployment and piqueterismo. To this end, the author links the analysis of images to that of discursive series. Although this study is devoted to a particulartype of movement, it provides theoretical and methodological tools for other types of approaches, while indicating instituted forms of constructing social reality that allow us to reflect on the processes of stigmatizing and strait-jacketing belligerent popular identities in general.
